Code of Conduct


The GO Code of Conduct was formed through the conversations and surveys of over 2,000 GO Members and the GO team including our trainers.  The Code was brought in to address a small minority of gym users that do not show fellow members the respect they deserve and are a detriment to the workout experience.  To the members that abide by the code – Thank You.  To the people that do not abide by our code, it is with respect that we suggest that you pursue your fitness goals elsewhere and we wish you all the best.

COURTESY - PUT YOUR WEIGHTS AWAY AND UNLOAD THE MACHINES – This is GO members’ ‘Number 1” pet hate.  There is no place in our gym for you if you can’t do this.

MANNERS - Be polite and courteous to other members, GO staff, and the trainers – no one likes a loud mouth or show off.  Any form of verbal or physical intimidation will result in immediate termination.

CONSIDERATION – Don’t excessively scream, grunt, swear or drop weights - GO members don’t want to hear it.  It shows no consideration for other members, or for the gym.

ETIQUETTE – Share the equipment. Membership doesn’t mean you own all of the equipment.  Offer to work in with fellow members if you see that they want to use the machine you are using too.

BEHAVIOUR - GO members are community centric.  Any form of illegal activity or poor behavior will be dealt with by GO, or where necessary the relevant authority.  The use and/or sale of steroids or illegal substances in this gym will not be tolerated.  Please be aware that GO members will report this kind of activity in an effort to rid you from our gym and community.

DECENCY – Please honour yourself and your fellow gym members by not engaging in ‘trash talk’ behind someone’s back, or from behind a computer screen.  ‘Gossiping’ and ‘internet bullying’ are signs of weakness and insecurity. Keyboard warriors who disrespect and bully members of the GO community are not welcome.
Heckling is an act of cowardice. If you want to speak, get up in front of the microphone and speak, don't sit in the dark hiding.  It's easy to hide and shout and waste people's time.” (Billy Connelly)

HUMBLE – Please leave your ego at the door.  GO members don’t like posers.  There are plenty of fit and attractive people in our gym who don’t pose in the mirror and try to get everyone to notice.

SUPPORT – We’re all in this together so if you can do something to assist or help fellow gym users please do so.

ASK – If you are new to the gym or are not sure of something, please ask a trainer or fellow member.  We promote a supportive, non-judgmental gym culture so please speak up and out. 
Take the attitude of a good student, never be too big to ask questions, never know too much to learn something new.” (Og Mandino)

CHALLENGE – Push yourself in your workout and in life.  Try new things.
